Ringleader Biography:

Ringleader Interplanetary Productions started as a promotional night in Oxford in 2004 but after a promising start and with interest hard dance ever decreasing, RIP Recordings was started to showcase the production talent of label manager John Ridout and co-producer Ross Self.

Success with BLACKRIP vinyl series as well as with digital sales was short lived as the industry turned almost completely digital and a whole new breed of labels erupted. No F*ckin Ice Cream a collaboration between Ben Kaye, John Ridout & Ross Self was the most successful release by far.

Due to a change in direction for production duo John Ridout & Ross Self, the label was completely rebranded for a new and much more up-to-date sound to bring it into 2009. First releases were received well and Carl Nichoson’s Broader remix of When The Demons Come was an outstanding result for the label.

Release of Sunburst 2009 CD Album by John Ridout, Ross Self and two more solo efforts from John (F*ck the Prom Queen, Fiesta) meant we were getting the support of Andy Farley, Carl Nicholson and Adrenaline Department as well as some radio play from Nikki Elise from KISS for album track, Never Awake Trance Mix Ft Lucy Clarke.

For 2010 we have gone Sunburst Digital with some new tracks and another slight change of sound as we aim to smash the UK Hard Dance scene to pieces.
With John Ridout producing tracks to the highest level with an unmatchable level of commitment to release only the biggest tunes on Ringleader and every tune professionally engineered and mastered track-by-track by Steve Morley, you can be assured that we are really going to blow you away.

John Ridout Biography:

Initially started Dj’ing in 2000 influenced at the time by Pete Wardman and held residencies in Oxford supporting the Slinky Tour and played alongside Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage and LAB4. Started Ringleader Interplanetary Productions initially for hard dance promotions in 2004

He then turned his attention to producing and started RIP Recordings, with digital releases alongside the BLACKRIP vinyl series. Working in the studio alongside Ben Kaye and Kampain and releasing under RIP DJs with Ross Self, RiP snorterZ with Ben Kaye and solo projects as Dennis the Menace.

Decided in 2007 to take his music production seriously and a complete rebrand of the label was required. Initially working with Nick Sentience brought about the cross genre style that became the Sunburst 2009 CD Album, released direct from Ringleader, along with collaborations on Impact Digital & Encoded.

These releases along with some high profile bootlegs, grabbed the attention of Killertrax who signed him to their label and agency.

Forthcoming collaborations with Dom Sweetom and Ben Stevens, as well as Sunbusrt Digital mean a very busy start to the year with the massive Genesis 4 and Sunburst Thunder to come before the summer.
